For some time, I’ve been listening to this mix by Aleksa Alaska for the record label Rubber from Den Haag. I didn’t know neither Aleksa Alaska nor Rubber, but I’m super glad that I stumbled upon them in my stream.
The Label Rubber is a super interesting label, releasing music in the field of electro, techno, synth-pop, and industrial. Beside the release, Rubber invites guests to curate its mix series, the kind of Post Ave, Job Sifre, or Aleksa Alaska.
Actually, I liked Aleksa Alaska’s contribution the most. As she curates a wonderful mixture of more experimental sounds in the beginning, before she gets rougher and slowly switches to more industrial and techno sounds. Well, you’re right, that’s not a big surprise as most sets work this way, but I think that Aleksa Alaska’s mix has this special flow that makes the difference. And for me, it’s the perfect soundtrack for a bike ride on a cold and dark evening in Berlin. So, grab your bike and hit the road ;-)
And if you want to listen to Aleksa Alaska, you should visit the infamous Tresor Club on February 22…
