Lately we already wrote about the lovely UM:LAUT Berlin, when this fantastic collective was celebrating its 5th birthday with Rayon, Piano Interrupted & múm.
The last time múm played UM:LAUT’s anniversary concert in Copenhagen, this time they will perform “Menschen am Sonntag” in Berlin’s Radialsystem and this gonna be huge;-)
I don’t think we have to tell you much about Múm
ByteFM called them the “most original Icelandic band” while Menschen am Sonntag is probably one of “the outstanding works of the German silent film avantgarde”. So, no wonder that we were quite excited when we heard that múm is gonna play a live score to the wonderful silent film classic MENSCHEN AM SONNTAG!
On the 11th and 12th February, the founding members of múm, Gunnar Örn Tynes and Örvar Smárason, and percussion wizard Samuli Kosminen are back right in time for Berlinale film festival! The semi-documentary film “Menschen am Sonntag”, which is rarely screened these days, was already considered a milestone of cinema shortly after its release.
